Boruto Chapter 66 Manga Discussion - Momoshiki appears again. He pulled another grand entrance scene and nonstop blasted massive rasengans. Of course, he managed to make a rasendan when code caught kawaki, that was actually smart. Although, it wasn't enough to take him down. Naruto and shikadai appeared and they couldn't do a single thing in this chapter. Shikadai got caught in a matter of seconds and naruto was confused about what to do until kawaki pulled the ''I got my powers back, yes!'' card. Well well, that's a great way of surprising us even though it was kinda expected that he took the offer because otherwise he would just be a weakling. The kawaki karma twist seemed a little telegraphed, but the moment of realization that he does still have it was done well. I think that naruto developing something new to add to his arsenal is very likely to happen in this fight, although it’s hard to say what exactly. I’d expect he and sasuke both will be adding abilities to compensate for their drastic nerfs, albeit nothing that compares to a perfect 9 tails or a tomoe’ed rinnegan. I believe there was no real truth in amado bio-engineering kawaki’s karma seal back, what I think it happened is the that amado knew that the only way kawaki can bring his karma seal back is indeed by kawaki himself, who is still ishiki’s vessel, deeply wanting to have his karma seal back, this is why amado was always mentally messing with kawaki and convincing him that he wanted and needed the karma seal, not because he needed kawaki’s permission to being biologically engineered by amado to have the karma back but because in fact the only way for kawaki to actually bring the karma seal back is by deeply and willingly wish for it to happen. Because let’s be honest amado is as smart and as sneaky as it gets if he wanted so he could very easily engineer kawaki’s karma seal back without kawaki’s permission and even without him noticing as amado has access to kawaki every time they meet for maintenance. So the only logical reason I see for all this amado needing to convince kawaki to have his karma back is that the real way for kawaki getting his karma back is by kawaki himself truly wishing it to happen.

Jinbe

"Knight of the Sea" Jinbe is the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, being the tenth member of the crew and the ninth to join. He is a whale shark fish-man who served as the second captain of the Sun Pirates after Fisher Tiger, and a former Shichibukai from 11 years ago until the Battle of Marineford two years ago. His dream is to fulfill his former captain Fisher Tiger's dying wish of coexistence and equality between humans and fish-men, and he continues to live his life in the hopes of seeing that dream's completion. His name was first mentioned by Yosaku in the Arlong Park Arc when he was explaining about the Shichibukai, but he was not formally introduced until the Impel Down Arc. He renounced his Shichibukai title at the Battle of Marineford, allying himself with the Whitebeard Pirates. After Whitebeard's death, his crew formed an alliance with Big Mom to protect Fish-Man Island. He befriended Monkey D. Luffy during the Battle of Marineford, and later allied with him and his to prevent the New Fish-Man Pirates' coup d'état against the Neptune Royal Family and the Ryugu Kingdom. Luffy invited him to join the Straw Hats, but Jinbe held it off until he had severed ties with Big Mom. He would later do so during the Whole Cake Island Arc and officially become a Straw Hat member. After staying behind in Totto Land to protect his previous crew from Big Mom's wrath, Jinbe would return to the Straw Hat Pirates during the Wano Country Arc. Jinbe's first bounty was Beli76,000,000. Eventually, his bounty raised to Beli250,000,000. After he resigned from the Shichibukai, his bounty increased to Beli438,000,000. He also is the central character from Solo Journey of Jinbe, Knight of the Sea Cover Page Serial. As the second captain of the Sun Pirates, Jinbe is an extremely powerful pirate as a former Shichibukai, with high authority and respect over his subordinates. It is stated that Jinbe was able to battle Portgas D. Ace on equal terms, despite Ace possessing Logia powers. They both nearly killed each other in a five-day long fight just before Ace was taken in by Whitebeard, and in Impel Down, he and Ace shared a cell on Level 6. His power and influence are so great that him departing from a Yonko's organization would severely diminish their crew's overall strength.

Jinbe boasts considerable interpersonal skills, which he exercises to maintain Fish-Man Island's connections to human organizations. He served as a Shichibukai to improve relations with the World Government, and served under Big Mom after leaving the Shichibukai, being entrusted by Neptune to run errands to her. He was able to quickly convince Monkey D. Luffy, Capone Bege, and Caesar Clown to put aside their hostility with each other and form an alliance due to their mutual hatred towards Big Mom. Jinbe also has a very acute sense of danger, as he refused to spin Big Mom's roulette after sensing murderous malice from the roulette; it is later confirmed by Pedro and Brûlée that the roulette had been rigged to ensure death to anyone who spun it. Even for a fish-man, Jinbe possesses tremendous strength. He is the most powerful fish-man seen thus far, shown when he threw away a giant fish-man with just one kick and defeated a super rookie with one punch. He also appears to be extremely swift, even on dry land, despite his large size. He could intercept an enraged Luffy (in Gear Second mode) and prevent him from further assaulting Blackbeard, and later Akainu, when the latter was about to deal a second life-crippling blow upon the already-injured Ace (who was being held by Luffy) in the latter's last moments. In the anime, when struck by Arlong in the face, he wasn't fazed and easily defeated Arlong not long after fighting. While rescuing Brook from Big Mom, Jinbe was able to swiftly grab Nami and Brook and escape from Prometheus's explosion in an instant. Jinbe is an exceptionally powerful master of Fish-Man Karate, which he can use to knock away many opponents at once and defeat extremely strong enemies. He was a child prodigy, being skilled enough that he became a black belt while he was still a child.

By adulthood, Jinbe's skill in Fish-Man Karate has become so immense that his strikes do not even need to make physical contact with an enemy as the water particles in the air will blow them away after a few seconds of time from the attack's initiation. Another example of his strength and Fish-Man Karate level is that he defeated Minorhinoceros, one of the four Jailer Beasts who are Awakened Zoan Devil Fruit users, with a single uppercut. He was able to easily punch Gecko Moria (a fellow Shichibukai) a few meters away, almost knocking him out. He also knocked out Charlotte Opera, an enormous man larger than himself in one punch. Jinbe is a great strategist. He is an expert in discerning military strategies after witnessing any subtle change in enemy formations, as seen when he quickly guessed that Magellan dispatched the order to the battleships outside Impel Down to flee during the mass breakout, and during the battle in Marineford where he surmises that the Marines were plotting something after Ivankov informs him that the enemy is retreating further into the plaza. Jinbe divulges a cunning way to smuggle Luffy and his crew into Gyoncorde Plaza inside Megalo's stomach while effectively deceiving Hody into believing he and Princess Shirahoshi were captured. This allowed the Straw Hats to steal the World Noble's letter and keys to unlock the chains that bounded the Neptune Family, releasing them from captivity by the New Fish-Man Pirates. Another example is when he persuaded Luffy and the Sanji Retrieval Team into allying with Capone Bege in order to ruin Big Mom's Tea Party after noting they didn't have a plan to act on.

Among fish-men, Jinbe has shown the unique ability to communicate with fish, even over long distances. The ability to speak with fish is usually unique to merfolks, so Jinbe's ability to do so is considered noteworthy by Crocodile. He summoned a large school of whale sharks to the Calm Belt (which was usually too dangerous, with the Sea Kings infesting it) to assist him in a mass-breakout of Impel Down. He can give the whale sharks precise orders, so they understand and obey him. Due to the Calm Belt being dangerously inhabited by Sea Kings, Jinbe would summon his whale-shark comrades to help him to pass through it, as he did when leaving Amazon Lily. This indicates that the whale sharks are capable of outmaneuvering the Sea Kings, something that the former Shichibukai admits is troublesome for himself. As a fish-man who is very familiar with the sea, Jinbe is a masterful helmsman, as shown when he steered a stolen Marine battleship from Impel Down to Marineford with little to no damage being inflicted on the stolen ship at all. He managed to skillfully steer the Thousand Sunny on his first try and even rode the ship within the 'Green Room' of the gigantic wave homie Big Mom created, using his Tacking skills. Nami described Jinbe's skills as a helmsman as if he were controlling the ship like his own body. Jinbe is an excellent negotiator and is able to calm the tensions that even Nami cannot handle as was seen when the Straw Hats and Bege are having a meeting inside Firetank Pirates hideout that quickly becomes tense. Jinbe is extremely skilled in using Busoshoku Haki, as shown when he hardened his arms to defend himself against some members of the Big Mom Pirates and later against Big Mom's Cognac. In the past, he fought equally against Ace, an extremely powerful Logia user. Kairagi, literally meaning "Plum Blossom Peel"): Jinbe hardens his arms and crosses them in a defensive stance. This was first seen used against Big Mom's Cognac technique, which it briefly managed to hold back but eventually broke. This is called Kairagi Glaze in the Viz Manga. Kairagi is a style of pottery that can resemble shark skin. Jinbe possesses the ability to use Kenbunshoku Haki. He was seen with a silver trident when he was a soldier in the Neptune Army. However, he was never shown using it. Other than that, it was shown that he had a tanto under his belt when he was fighting Ace, but he did not use it.

Brook

"Soul King" Brook is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates, serving as musician after drifting into the Florian Triangle for 50 years. He is a Devil Fruit user who ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, and is undead, having been brought back into a pseudo-immortal state because of its powers. His dream is to, after sailing around the world, reunite with his old friend, Laboon, at Reverse Mountain, where he resides with Crocus. Before joining the crew, he acts as the main ally of the Straw Hat Pirates during the Thriller Bark Arc, joining at the end of the same arc, being the ninth member of the Straw Hat crew, and the eighth to join, as well as being the oldest member of the crew and the second tallest member on board after Jinbe. During the two-year timeskip, Brook had become a world-famous celebrity and rock star, but after having his final concert on Sabaody Archipelago and his identity as a pirate revealed to the world by the Marines, he gladly gave up the life of a star and returned to the crew. He is also one of the two swordsmen onboard their current ship, with the other being Roronoa Zoro. He fills the role of the long-awaited musician that Luffy had wanted for his crew ever since his journey began. He currently has a bounty of Beli83,000,000. As much as Brook normally goofs around on the ship engaging in acts of silliness with Luffy, he is still a formidable opponent. Due to his previous experiences and skills that he amassed from the days when the Pirate King Gol D. Roger was still active, Brook, in all respects, is a veteran pirate (though these attributes are somewhat downplayed by his overall demeanor, along with the fact that his isolation in the Florian Triangle seemed to have eroded his knowledge of modern society).

Brook's skeletal body allows him to perform a wide variety of acts that would be impossible or fatal for a normal human to do. As long as his body remains solid and intact, he will live, and he can easily repair any bone damage simply by consuming milk. He can even survive having his head cut off, continuing to talk, smell, and see while it is detached. However, he is still capable of feeling pain. Due to his lack of flesh, Brook is resistant to lightning strikes and high and low temperatures. Brook does not age, as his body only consists of bones and he continues to grow stronger despite being 90 years old. He is capable of storing objects inside his skull, such as a Tone Dial and Poneglyph rubbings. Brook's light weight as a result of his skeletal body makes him the fastest member of the Straw Hats. He can run across water without sinking, and jump extremely high into the air. Brook frequently uses his tremendous speed in battle, allowing him to take down opponents with attacks too quick for them to see. He was able to purify an entire horde of Soldier Zombies before any of them could react, and was capable of catching the Yonko Big Mom and her homies off guard with his attacks. Brook is a virtuoso musician who is extremely skilled in playing all kinds of instruments, particularly the violin, his favorite instrument. After he was separated from the Straw Hats, Brook picked up the guitar and, within two years, he became so highly skilled in the new instrument that he came to be regarded as a world famous rock star.

At testament to this fact, his records in Tone Dials sold in the millions, and his fans during his final world tour stop in Sabaody Archipelago were either crying or fainting at his presence. Brook can masterfully play enchanting songs that are so melodious they can completely captivate even animals like Laboon, who used to sing along to Brook's music. In addition to singing  and playing music, Brook is also a skilled composer, having composed songs such as "Bone To Be Wild" and "New World", which proved to be very fashionable among music fans and lovers. While he was still alive, Brook ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, a Paramecia-class Devil Fruit that allowed his soul to return to his body after he died. This allows him to reside within a skeleton body, and he can even perform the functions he did when his body contained flesh and muscle. Other than bringing him back from the dead, Brook's fruit initially seemed useless. However, after the timeskip, he discovered that he could exercise the power of his soul, which he discovered is what allows him to animate his body. He can separate it to move independently of his body. This leaves his body a lifeless husk, but as a spirit, Brook is capable of moving through walls and going to areas that would be impossible for him to physically reach, though he cannot grab hold of anything. He is capable of exerting his soul power to affect beings with weaker souls such as homies. This soul energy exudes coldness, called the "chills of the Underworld", and allows Brook to transfer this freezing aura to objects like his sword. With this aura, he is capable of freezing his surroundings, as seen when he turned the ground around him on Zou into ice.

Brook uses a type of sword called a shikomizue, a sword concealed inside a cane. He uses this sword in conjunction with his fencing skills and has had it for at least fifty years. As a former battle convoy leader and pirate captain with years of experience in the Grand Line, Brook is a master in swordsmanship. Despite his usual goofy personality in battle, he is an extremely skilled Gentle Blade type swordsman who is able to dispatch numerous enemies at once with swift and precise strikes. His swordsmanship is a combination of classical fencing and iaidō. Brook's Gentle Blade style is more focused on speed and precision while Zoro's style is more focused on power and thus uses a tremendous amount of physical strength. Brook was unable to defeat Ryuma no matter how hard he fought and while Ryuma only used a fraction of his power, he noticed that Zoro was able to defeat him at full power with only two of his swords, although Ryuma did say that Brook's protectiveness of his afro held him back somewhat. While at Sabaody Archipelago, two years ago, he struck a Pacifista using a high speed sword attack, yet failed to do much damage to it and had to be rescued afterward. However, when Zoro attacked the same Pacifista, the results were very different. He was able to keep up with what Zoro was doing while he watched the swordsman fight Ryuma, showing his sharp perception for swordsmanship. He works very well with Zoro, as they defeated a Flying Fish Rider together. After the timeskip, Brook has named his sword "Soul Solid", due to him developing the ability to coat it with the aura of his soul, freezing it in the process, and anyone who comes into contact with it. He also claimed that the Longarm Tribe has helped him sharpen the sword. His power and skill in swordmanship has also increased to the degree where a samurai from Wano has commended his skill and he is also now able to use flying slashes as well, which were on par with Zoro's and Kin'emon's. Like Zoro, Brook can now cut materials that are harder than steel as he was able to cut down a dragon, whose scales are tougher than steel.

Franky

"Iron Man" Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates. A cyborg from Water 7, he was originally the leader of the Franky Family, a group of ship dismantlers. He is originally from South Blue , but left 32 years ago as a four-year-old child. He was originally named "Cutty Flam" until he threw away his original name for his nickname per the request of Iceburg to hide his identity. Franky and his followers were originally enemies of the Straw Hats at the beginning of the Water 7 Arc, until circumstances forced them to become allies at the end of the same arc and the Enies Lobby Arc. At the request of the Franky Family, Franky decided to join the Straw Hats to fulfill his dream of creating and riding a ship capable of circumnavigating the world, the Thousand Sunny. He is the eighth member of the Straw Hat crew and the seventh to join Luffy's crew. He currently has a bounty of Beli94,000,000. Previously going by the epithet, "Cyborg" Franky, he has since gained the new epithet, "Iron Man". As a member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Franky is a competent crewmate as well as a valuable asset for the crew. Being their official shipwright, Franky is in charge of maintaining the Thousand Sunny's condition, along with the other vehicles, instruments, or weapons that the Straw Hats may employ. He is also an accomplished surgeon as he was able to perform an operation on himself twice, despite the fact that he does not specialize in the field. He was able to do this even though he was close to death. Franky has considerable skills in playing a guitar.

Due to the bionic modifications done to his body, Franky has incredible superhuman strength. His years of being a ship dismantler, as well as a bounty hunter prior to piracy seem to further contributed greatly to his formidable physical prowess; even when running low on cola, he exhibits enough strength to overwhelm a charging, fully grown elephant, stopping it in its tracks before dragging it around by the trunk like it was a rag doll. When first confronted by the CP9 members in Water 7, Franky was shown to be strong enough to almost break through Blueno's Tekkai and quickly overpower him in terms of brute force. Franky was even able to briefly fight on par against Luffy during their initial confrontation, before their fight was interrupted by the Galley-La Company workers. During his fight with Fukurou, Franky easily smashed through his Tekkai causing him to complain in pain, an extraordinary feat as Fukurou is a full-fledged Rokushiki user.

Even before he became a cyborg, Franky is strong enough to brutalize Spandam's face with a rifle, disfiguring him with a single hit. Despite his wild and reckless nature, Franky is very tactical, willing to use deception and trickery to gain an advantage in battle. He has shown a great understanding of psychological warfare. In Enies Lobby, he cleverly deceived Spandam and numerous other Marines into leaving by appearing to self destruct with his Coup De Boo, effectively exploiting their cowardice and fear of death when in reality, he intends to break free from his chains using Coup De Boo, which he succeeds as Spandam and the Marines were busy escaping. When he is unable to keep up with the extreme speed of Fukurou's Soru, he used insults to taunt Fukurou into disregarding Soru, tricking him into direct close quarter combat. In addition to his cyborg-enhanced body, Franky is also a master craftsman, being a first-rate shipwright and an exceptional carpenter from working under Tom. As both a former employee of Tom's Workers and one of Tom's apprentices, Franky's skills as a shipwright are top-notch and well versed. This was evident in his youth, when he helped in the construction of the first Sea Train, the Puffing Tom alongside Tom, showing that his skills as a shipwright extended to naval architecture as well. He helped to achieve this feat, while in his spare time also continuing to build his own line of thirty-five specially designed, numbered battleships named the "Battle Frankies", with each ship capable of killing a sea king. Even his years of dismantling had not affected his carpentry skills in any way.

General Franky is a giant robot, with a height of 13m. It is modeled after its name, a shogun, and is a one-person weapon/vehicle, Franky himself is able to pilot it inside a control room in the chest and can operate it from there. It is equipped with a giant marauder's sword named "Franken". However, because he is rather inept at using a sword, the attacks he uses are seemingly ineffective, and it sometimes appears most of its projectile armaments are purely from Franky himself. Franky can also use the giant fists to deliver powerful punches and can also slam its heavy body on his enemies to crush them. Though not at the same level as Usopp, Franky is an expert marksman, having great accuracy in using all the long range artillery he had built and installed into his body. On Fish-Man Island, Franky easily blasted down multiple fish-men with the cannons in his shoulders. At Dressrossa, he shot down numerous members of the Donquixote Pirates while attempting to break into the Toy House. It is also worth noting that Franky's original transformation into BF-36 was initiated as a quasi-surgical operation of necessity to save his life, and it is assumed was accomplished with some modicum of haste from a medical standpoint, since he suffered from massive external and internal injuries; whereas the process to become BF-37 was a two year long-planned process done with highly advanced machinery in an abandoned fully-stocked, scientific laboratory, on his preexisting cyborg body, so Franky's own experience being one beforehand was likely factored in when customizing its schematics and functions, as well as understanding whatever notes and information of scientific research that Vegapunk left behind.  Though Franky is seldom seen carrying weapons (owing to the fact that he stores several within his body), he has been shown to wield tools and implements from time to time, most notably his carpentry tools, though at other times, he is seen carrying conventional weapons that he seems to be able to wield proficiently. Such weapons include custom-built nunchucks and hand-held cannons.  At first the shogun seemed mostly useless as many of its attacks came from Franky himself, however, it was not until his battle against Baby 5 and Buffalo that its strength was truly shown. It has been shown to possess both powerful weaponry and be extremely tough and resilient to damage, for it was able to take a point-blank missile attack from Baby 5 that only managed to knock it over without doing any damage. His robot is also capable of launching an attack similar to both his Coup de Vent and Franky Radical Beam known as his "General Cannon", which fires a large blast of compressed air at his opponent(s). Franky compares the power of this attack to Thousand Sunny's "Gaon Cannon". The robot can also provide protection against any outside agents, as Franky used it to stand in the middle of a huge cloud of Caesar Clown's H2S gas completely unaffected.

Nico Robin

Nico Robin, also known by her epithet "Devil Child" and the "Light of the Revolution",[19] is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. She is the sole survivor of the destroyed island of Ohara, which was located in the West Blue. She is currently the only person in the world known to have the ability to read and decipher Poneglyphs, a skill which is considered forbidden and threatening to the World Government. She was first introduced as the vice president of Baroque Works and secondary antagonist of the Alabasta Saga, known as Miss All Sunday, before joining the Straw Hats. She is the seventh member of the crew, the sixth to join, and like Nami and Chopper, is the third to rejoin, doing so near the end of the Enies Lobby Arc.  She ate the Hana Hana no Mi at a young age. During the Post-War Arc, she became involved with the Revolutionaries for two years. Her dream is to find the Rio Poneglyph which tells the true history. She currently holds a bounty of Beli130,000,000. At a young age, Robin acquired a bounty of Beli79,000,000 for having the ability to read Poneglyphs, which told of the Void Century. Her ability to read the Poneglyphs are by far her most dangerous quality, and the World Government considers her a huge threat because of this. She was branded as being considerably powerful, and supposedly sinking six Buster Call warships with her Devil Fruit powers. This was all a lie fabricated by the government. Those ships were actually destroyed by Jaguar D. Saul after helping Robin escape during the destruction of Ohara.

Robin is an exceptional archaeologist, with a vast knowledge of history and cultures. She was able to, for example, correctly deduct the identity of the St. Briss by merely examining the two-century old remains of one of its dead crewmen. As a child prodigy, she passed her archaeological exams at the age of 8 to become a certified scholar. She is also the only person alive who can read the language written on poneglyph tablets, which contain records of ancient history; this was the true reason why her first bounty was so high, despite being issued when she was only 8 years old.[20] It is revealed that Robin taught herself most of these skills through researching in the library of Ohara, which she had done without the aid of her senior colleagues. This shows great aptitude in academics and research. While not at the same superhuman level as Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe, Robin has exceptional physical prowess, due to spending her entire childhood to her young adult life constantly on the run from various enemies, such as the Marines and the World Government. Because of her harsh experiences, Robin became physically strong and extremely agile. She has also fought without the use of her Devil Fruit powers, easily defeating Nefertari Vivi with a single strike to the midsection.  Robin ate the Hana Hana no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit at a very young age as she is seen using its powers at the age of eight.

Even at this age, she was proficient enough to be able to spy on the research that Professor Clover and the rest of her former colleagues from Ohara were conducting under the radar of the World Government. She can produce her body parts on any surface including her own body, other bodies, and other objects, allowing her to create copies of them. However, her replicated parts are considered an extension of her own body, and if they are hurt, she feels the pain on her actual body. Similarly, Devil fruit abilities that require contact with a person's body will take effect when used on her extended limbs as evidenced by Sugar turning Robin into a toy by touching Robin's replicated arms. Usually, when she uses her powers she crosses her arms and makes an "X" shape across her chest, though it's shown that she does not necessarily need to do so to use her abilities. Robin is intelligent enough to know how to use her powers in the most effective and efficient way, and her attacks hinder the enemy, stopping all movement with the ever multiplying hands. Although she is very powerful, her sprouted body parts can be hit and stretched, causing damage to her real body, which is her weak point. Her powers are also very useful in dangerous situations. She can carry her friends by using feet and hands, but also tends to use her ability to place her foes in painful submission holds and to break their bones almost effortlessly. Her powers make her particularly well suited to taking on large numbers of foes, and in fact the other members of the crew have grouped her in with the "Monster Trio" in terms of strength due to how dangerous her abilities are, as demonstrated when Nami put her in the group forbidden to blow Gan Fall's whistle and call for help along with the other strongest crew members, and in two hostile encounters with the crew in which she had no problem disarming all the Straw Hats at once.

She carried a dagger at her belt, but did not use it in combat, as she fights unarmed using only her powers. She only used it once in an attempt to kill Crocodile in self defense. When Robin teamed up with CP9 during their raid on Iceburg's mansion, she carried several flintlock pistols as well, wielding all of them at the same time with her Hana Hana no Mi powers. In Film Z, Robin wielded both a rifle and a rapier during the final battle. Robin is a brilliant strategist due to her genius intellect, she is extremely skilled in using cunning deception and trickery to gain a strategic advantage over enemies who are more powerful than herself. In Thriller Bark, she is able to exploit the zombies's complete obedience to their masters as shown when she tricked Hogback into giving orders to the two zombies with Zoro and Sanji's shadows into jumping off the Thriller Bark mansion, effectively lure them away from Hogback without using physical force. Robin is not afraid to use violence as a solution to a problem or for defense and often incapacitates her enemies by breaking their necks or backs (even when they cry out for mercy), even going as far as to squeeze Franky's scrotum, though only one time, in order to make him join the crew. She also has the habit of spying on others (i.e. listening in on conversations, reading body language and facial expressions). This is shown when she spies on Sanji's conversation with the Risky Brothers at Thriller Bark, and reading the Straw Hats' expressions when she first wanted to join the crew. At Water 7, she admits to Chopper that these habits are from her childhood. Her Devil Fruit ability allows her to spy extremely effectively by sprouting her eyes or ears from walls at distant locations. Part of her mission while working undercover in Wano as a geisha was to spy on the movements of Orochi's army. Despite not being in Orochi's palace for very long, she was able to acquire a large amount of information. Robin can disguise as another person. She was trusted by her crew to infiltrate Orochi's palace as a geisha. She was able to blend into the crowd, especially when she is in a place where no one knows about her true identity yet. She appears to have some skill with piloting the Mini Merry II, as she was seen controlling it on a Milky Road while on the way to Punk Hazard. She was also controlling the wheel with her Devil Fruit powers while she sat in the back seat of the vehicle. She has some skill as an artist as she can draw a decent picture of the Flying Dutchman and the Kraken. Robin has some skill with haircutting since her and Usopp act as the crew's hairdressers.Robin is an excellent dancer. In Film Z, her graceful dancing make her extremely popular and according to Usopp, it helped earned a large amount of money. In Wano Country, she began apprenticing as a Geisha in order to get close to the Shogun Kurozumi Orochi. She is a fast learner as within weeks, she became skilled enough to become one of the most popular geishas of the Flower Capital, and was summoned alongside Komurasaki to perform at Orochi's banquet. Though she has not yet displayed the ability to use Haki, Robin is fully aware of the power as she commented on Luffy knocking out half of Hody's men. She also has great knowledge about Haki, such as explaining the principles of Busoshoku Haki to Franky when Luffy fought Caesar Clown.

Tony Tony Chopper

Tony Tony Chopper, also known as "Cotton Candy Lover" Chopper, is the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates. Chopper is a reindeer that ate the Hito Hito no Mi, a Devil Fruit that allows its user to transform into a human hybrid or a human at will. He came from Drum Island where he learned how to be a doctor, and is the first member of the Straw Hats who was born on the Grand Line. His dream is to one day become a doctor capable of curing any disease and wants to travel all across the world specifically in the hopes of accomplishing this dream. He is the sixth member of the crew and the fifth to join Luffy, as well as being the second member to rejoin the crew, after temporarily being forced to join the Foxy Pirates during the Long Ring Long Land Arc. Additionally, he is also the youngest member on board. He has a bounty of Beli100 due to being mistaken for the crew's pet. Typically, it is rare for doctors to fulfill roles other than medical practices for the benefit of those around them, but as the Straw Hats' doctor, Chopper's responsibilities are not limited to just medicine alone. He occasionally performed tasks like steering the ship as their unofficial helmsman while on the Going Merry, and during the heat of battle, he can also fulfill the role of a physical fighter to support his friends.

However, due in part to his lack of battle experience or formal training (as well as his Rumble Ball's time limited effect) Chopper was originally considered part of the "Weakling Trio" along with Nami and Usopp. This lay largely in his lack of battle intuition and naïveté at the time, though it is shown that he has gotten much more capable after his two years of training on Torino Kingdom. In spite of his usual fearful behavior, Chopper is shown to have a strong will as he withstood a burst of Haoshoku Haki from Big Mom. During the Whole Cake Island Arc, Chopper showed great tactical skills in the middle of his confrontation with Charlotte Brûlée as he and Carrot came up with a method to deceive her by using a decoy of Carrot created by Brûlée's power. He has shown to be very analytical, as he examined his surroundings before taking action. He pretended to remain restrained by chains in his Heavy Point, and when Carrot toppled the soup towards Brûlée and electrocuted most of the enemies, Chopper used the element of surprise by changing into Brain Point to break free before using Monster Point, subjugating the Crocodile homie and wiped out the remaining enemies.

Chopper even thought of exploiting Brûlée's Devil Fruit ability to transverse Big Mom's territory through the Mirro-World in order to find and save his friends while remaining undetected by a majority of the Big Mom Pirates. His strategy received praise from Capone Bege, the captain of the Fire Tank Pirates and a master tactician. During the mission to rescue Brook, Chopper used a skeleton with sea weed for hair to use as a replacement for Brook after they retrieved him from Charlotte Linlin. Because he is originally an animal, Chopper can understand and communicate with other animals, thus allowing him to serve as a translator between animals and humans. Having studied under Dr. Kureha, one of the finest doctors of the medically advanced Drum Kingdom, Chopper himself is an extraordinary doctor with outstanding knowledge of both medicine and medical drugs as well as the preparations of most remedies and ointments that can be made from regular fruits, herbs, roots, and vegetables that can be found and used on most islands. He is also capable of administering surgery and resuscitation. Overall, Chopper can treat even the most brutal injuries, as shown when he managed to save Zoro's life, who was on the verge of death after he absorbed all of Luffy's pain and fatigue from Kuma's Devil Fruit Powers. Chopper has eaten the Hito Hito no Mi, a Zoan-class Devil Fruit which allows him the ability to transform into a human and human-reindeer hybrid at will. However, the fruit has granted Chopper more than just the ability to transform; it has also given him human intelligence, which allows him to both speak and think like an actual human. This is what allowed Chopper to become a doctor and learn about medicine in the first place, which is impossible for a normal reindeer. While Chopper is usually seen in his human-reindeer hybrid form, which is a tanuki-like chibi-creature, he would sometimes transform into his human form to try and fit in with humans, often with minimal success. But when in combat, he also uses his Devil Fruit powers in order to fight his enemies with the strength given to him by the fruit and usually transforms into whatever form best suits the situation.

In addition to his three forms granted by his Devil Fruit, Chopper has also invented a yellow jaw-breaker like drug called the "Rumble Ball", through some research. This drug has the power to distort the wavelengths of the Devil Fruit's transformation, allowing him access to additional transformations for three minutes. As a reindeer, Chopper was naturally born with high levels of cervid speed and agility. After consuming the Hito Hito no Mi, Chopper gained enhanced human physical potential added to his own. He has extreme levels of superhuman endurance, able to withstand powerful attacks from Kumadori, and even when badly injured, Chopper could force himself to transform into Monster Point and ultimately survived the immense strain, despite his injuries and fatigue that left him unable to move. During the two years he spent in Torino Kingdom, Chopper underwent extensively intense physical training to further increase his natural physical strength in his based form, which results in vast improvements of his Zoan Devil Fruit enhanced physical abilities whenever he transform. His Heavy Point is now powerful enough to counter a hammer strike from a energy steroid enhanced Dosun as well as holding back a door against a group of rampaging gigantified children. His new Kung Fu Point form possesses the extreme punching strength of Arm Point while retaining the immense agility of Jumping Point. His Brain Point which is his weakest form is now strong enough to easily carry two large iron balls while running at full speed to escape from a murderous Brûlée. Chopper's immense medical knowledge of the bipedal anatomy has also proved useful when the Straw Hats were trying to bring down Oars, during which time, Chopper formulated several theories on where it was best to target the colossal adversary, and finding the giant's weak spot. And while naïve, he can also be quite a capable strategist, as seen in his fights against the Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas pair and Gedatsu. Masui, literally meaning "Anaesthesia"): Chopper injects a substance, possibly an anesthetic, into the opponent's body making them faint. This was first used on Luffy when he had a hallucination of a tsunami about to hit them while walking to Yuba in the Alabasta Desert, and it was later used in order to stop a group of rampaging giant children on Punk Hazard, with some assistance from the G-5 Marines. In the English manga this technique is called Sedative.

Nefertari Vivi

Nefertari Vivi is the princess of Alabasta. She is the daughter of Nefertari Cobra and Titi. She was one of the main antagonists of the Reverse Mountain Arc under the Baroque Works codename Miss Wednesday. However, she and her pet super spot-billed duck Karoo ended up joining the Straw Hat Pirates for most of the Alabasta Saga after revealing herself to be a spy plotting against Baroque Works. She left the crew after defeating Baroque Works to stay in her home country, but has been shown to be keeping track of the Straw Hat's progress. Vivi is a young woman with long wavy light blue hair, with two locks hanging down, one on either side of her head, which started out at about chin-length but were past her shoulders by her last appearance before the timeskip. She most often wears her hair pulled back into a ponytail, and brown eyes. She has a slender body but tends to wear less-revealing clothing than Nami and Robin do. Vivi has been seen wearing several different high heeled shoes, including white high heel boots, white high heel sandals, and blue wedges. Vivi does not fit the stereotype of a needy and authoritative princess, never demanding any special attention or prioritizing herself above others. In fact, she usually puts the needs of others far above her own and is hesitant to rely on others or ask for help with her problems. In particular, she places an enormous value on the citizens of her country and the lives of her friends. Vivi's selfless nature could be seen especially when she asked the Straw Hats to make a detour to get medical help for Nami instead of continuing straight to Alabasta, even though she knew her country was in a state of emergency.

As a princess, Vivi has a great deal of authority in her country. She has a natural skill in diplomacy. This was clear even as a child, as Vivi understood what being a princess meant and acted with wisdom beyond her years during her childhood trip to the Levely. When she was slapped by Wapol, she quickly apologized for being in his way and held back her tears until he was out of earshot, all for the sake of preventing an international incident. When meeting the Straw Hats, she managed to persuade Zoro and Nami into protecting her from the Baroque Works agents after her cover was blown, and even persuaded Nami against charging her for their protection. When traveling with the Straw Hats, she even showed an impressive, and almost comedic amount of skill in keeping the more childish members of the crew (Luffy, Ussop, and Chopper) as well as Karoo, focused, calm, and motivated during their travels together.

When they reached Drum Island, she was able to persuade Luffy not to attack the villagers back and even put on a brave face after being shot in the arm. Her courage convinced the villagers to allow them into the village peacefully. In the aftermath of the battle against Baroque Works, Vivi even managed to persuade the royal guards and rebels of her country to ultimately stop fighting and killing one another, effectively ending the needless civil war that was started by Crocodile. Vivi has proven herself to be a very capable spy, and has shown great skill in stealth and other clandestine skills as well. This was proven clearly as Vivi was extremely good at moving about undetected, having established herself as a single digit member of Baroque Works for two years before her identity was compromised and she returned to Alabasta completely unnoticed by the citizens. Her actions as a spy were completely unnoticed by the Marines, the World Government, and even the Shichibukai Crocodile for more than two years until her cover was finally blown by Miss All Sunday. Since leaving the Straw Hats, she seems to have managed to maintain her role as a princess, all the while successfully keeping both her past as a Baroque Works agent and a companion of a pirate crew secret from the Marines and the World Government.

Vivi's weapons of choice are her twirling "Kujakki (Peacock) Slashers," which are small, sharp discs attached to her fingers by wires. She is left handed but capable of dual-wielding the slashers. At Alabasta, she started using the longer range Kujakki String Slashers, which carry enough power to behead someone with a single slash. If her Peacock Slashers miss the target, as seen when she was fighting Miss Father's Day and Mr. 7, she can use a special backup move she has dubbed Run Back. This technique has been proven to be extremely useful, as it defeated the two frontier agents of Baroque Works. Before joining the Straw Hats, she had another attack, first seen being used on Zoro: the Miwaku no Memaii Dansu, in which she performs an hypnotic dance utilizing the concentric patterns on her outfit. The effect immobilizes her opponent and creates an opening for her final attack. In the anime (where the design of her outfit is altered), this attack is changed to the Miwaku no Kousui Dansu and relies on a special perfume for effect. She and Mr. 9 briefly wielded bazookas during their attempt to kill Laboon. Vivi was once seen hitting Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji with a large mace, after which the weapon was never seen again. It was replaced with a broom in the anime. Vivi is resilient and able to endure a lot of pain, such as a bullet wound to the arm and a skinned knee caused when she fell due to her wedges falling apart, slowing her down momentarily. Her feet are also tough enough that she can go barefoot with ease, as she was able to trek through Alubarna unhindered after her wedges fell apart, run across cobblestone streets without any visible pain, and stand perched steadily atop a narrow ledge on the city's clock tower. After all this, she only suffered minor scrapes and tarnishes to her feet and needed no bandages on them afterwards. After the timeskip, Vivi has seemingly become much more physically agile and resilient, as evidenced by her deftly jumping from a crow's nest hundreds of feet high and landing on her feet in front of her father and guards. In terms of physical strength, she is highly outmatched by other members of the Straw Hat Pirates. This was made very evident when she struggled against a single Bananawani while Luffy and Zoro could defeat a group of them effortlessly. This huge difference in strength briefly made Vivi comically depressed, as she even had trouble with just running from one.

Sanji

"Black Leg" Sanji, born as Vinsmoke Sanji, is the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as the former sous chef of the Baratie. He is also the third son and fourth child of the Vinsmoke Family, thus making him a prince of the Germa Kingdom, until he officially disowned them twice. Despite Sanji renouncing his surname Vinsmoke, the World Government labels it as part of his name on his wanted poster. He is officially the fifth member of the crew and the fourth to join, doing so at the end of the Baratie Arc. Since he was born in North Blue, he is the first Straw Hat not to originate from East Blue. He is one of the top four fighters in the crew alongside Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe. His dream is to find the rumored chef's paradise, All Blue, which is where East Blue, West Blue, North Blue, and South Blue meet, along with their wildlife. Due to the events on Whole Cake Island, his current bounty is Beli330,000,000, giving him the third highest bounty in the crew after Luffy and Jinbe. Sanji is one of the crew's top four fighters along with Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe. He currently has the third highest bounty in the crew after Luffy and Jinbe. While Luffy usually fights the strongest enemies, Sanji and Zoro usually end up fighting with the enemies considered second or third to the primary threat. Occasionally, Sanji will take on an opponent explicitly weaker than Zoro's. An example of this is when Sanji fought Jabra of CP9, who had a slightly lower power level than Kaku, who lost to Zoro.

The introduction of Douriki during the CP9 Arc is one of the only times in the series that opponents' strengths have been measured numerically. However, Sanji and Zoro's opponents can often be characterised as matching (or countering) their particular combat styles, such as how Sanji fought another leg-style combat user, Mr. 2, during the Alabasta Arc while Zoro fought the blade-focused Mr. 1. Self-taught since childhood and also personally trained by Zeff, Sanji is an exceptional culinary master of the highest caliber, possessing immense knowledge and the capability of preparing almost any kind of delicious food with a strong sense to the aesthetics of cooking. He cooks with amazing speed and dexterity, particularly in his use of knives. His sense of taste is also not lacking. Often, he is able to deduce the qualities of aspects (i.e. ingredients, and method of cooking and preparations) involved in a prepared dish in a very short period of time. He has an extremely sharp sense of smell, as he correctly figured out all the ingredients Streusen used for the wedding cake and even perfectly figured out Streusen's secret recipe solely by its fragrance, a feat that completely shocked Chiffon and the 31 Head Chefs of Whole Cake Island. Attack Cuisine is a special kind of cooking only found in the Kamabakka Kingdom.

According to Sanji, the cuisine emanates a powerful aura and flavor to the one consuming it. It is said by Emporio Ivankov that it builds up the physical side of the human body; he even vouches for it as the reason why the inhabitants of the Kamabakka Kingdom have fit and powerful physiques. While "Attack Cuisine" is not denied to outsiders, and is in fact freely offered, only the people who have gone through the "Bride Training" and have become users of the Newkama Kenpo are told the 99 vital recipes of the Attack Cuisine. Exceptions to this rule may occur, as seen when Ivankov gave Sanji a challenge to earn the recipes. The challenge was to defeat the 99 Newkama Kenpo masters who are in possession of the 99 recipes while avoiding becoming an okama. Sanji accepted the challenge and eventually conquered it. Due to years of extremely hard training under Zeff since childhood, Sanji has gained extraordinary superhuman physical prowess, speed, and agility, which enables him to use an array of handstands for a kick-based martial art, which makes him immensely versatile in combat. His training in a kick-based martial arts also grants him colossal leg strength, enabling him to break even the hardest materials and defeat the strongest enemies using the tremendous power of his kicks. He can easily destroy boulders and metal weapons and effortlessly overpower giant sea monsters such as Bananawani and Momoo. Sanji even managed to topple Oars, a monstrous giant, by kicking him in the foot. In an SBS, Oda stated that Sanji's kicking power is 21 Bats (the power to break 21 wooden bats in one kick).

Under Zeff's strict tutelage Sanji became an extremely powerful master of a kick based martial art he created named the "Black Leg Style" which is a unique combination of Brazilian Capoeira, French Savate and Korean Taekwondo, able to use powerful kicks with supreme versatility. He has also stated that the reason he fights using is that he does not want to risk damaging his hands as he needs them to cook, thus instead of punches, Sanji incorporates handstands into the Black Leg Style. He is also able to use one-handed handstands, and execute consecutive back handsprings (as seen during his fight with Jabra) to augment the force and range of his kicks. He could easily overpower numerous enemies at once, such as pirates, Marines, and Government agents. In the Enies Lobby Arc, Sanji reveals a new ability - Diable Jambe, the power to heat his lower legs to a temperature so high that they glow bright red, by spinning rapidly in place, which causes his attack to be more powerful. "Diable" means "Devil" in French and it's also the name of a kitchen tool. It's probably also a reference to the "sauce à la diable", a French spicy sauce. "Jambe" means "Leg". The kanji used, mean devil wind foot (- wind foot - is a play on the term kazaashi, meaning wind speed). The aforementioned attacks also have the word Diable Jambe preceding it (ex. "Diable Jambe: Flambage Shot"). The heat of his attacks is so high that contact for even a second could set a person ablaze. Sanji used this ability during his fight with Jabra, in which his normal attacks were not as effective due to his active usage of Tekkai. With the heat of his new ability, Sanji overcame his inability to smash through Tekkai by burning through it instead. By using the technique "Frit Assorti" in Diable Jambe against Oars, Sanji was able to effectively deflect his direct "Gomu Gomu no Bazooka" in order to protect Robin with a single kick. Diable Jambe has improved to the point that his entire leg is now enveloped in large flames. It is now so powerful and hot that even underwater, he is able to scorch one of the Kraken's tentacles with "Bien Cuit: Grill Shot", severely injuring it. Later at Gyoncorde Plaza, as he was airborne (Sky Walk), he executed another new move called "Poêle à Frire: Spectre", where he stomps his opponents repeatedly with high accuracy and speed. Although he has not shown the ability to use it, Sanji knows about Haoshoku Haki, something he (along with the rest of the crew) had not shown any knowledge of during the first half of the series. Kenbunshoku Haki is Sanji's speciality concerning Haki. During his stay on Kamabakka Kingdom, Sanji has trained his Kenbunshoku Haki to become a proficient user of this Haki. He can sense the presence, strength, emotions, and intent of others, and was even able to dodge a jellybean shot by Charlotte Katakuri despite Katakuri having a higher level of Kenbunshoku Haki. It was stated by Luffy that Sanji possesses Busoshoku Haki after Law asked who could fight Caesar Clown who's a Logia User. However, he hasn't displayed this Haki until he fought his father blocking his spear by enhancing his right leg much to Judge's surprise although, he still seemed to have taken some minor damage. Sanji was able to damage Luffy's rubber body when they fought on Whole Cake Island. Germa 66 had created a Raid Suit specifically designed for Sanji to use, which was secretly hidden and given to him as a parting gift during the Vinsmokes' assistance in his and Luffy's escape from Cacao Island. Sanji initially refused to put it on, but donned it while at Wano Country. The suit gives Sanji a black Germa outfit and cape with the number 3 on it, as well as jet-propelled boots. Uniquely, it also gives him a mask to wear over his nose and mouth, and slicks the front of his hair into two parts, one pointing up and one pointing down. Like the other Vinsmokes' Raid Suits, it grants Sanji the ability to fly and strengthen his kicks with propelled boots, and serves as an armor to protect him from attacks.

Usopp

"God" Usopp is the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates and the former captain of the Usopp Pirates. He was born in Syrup Village and was first mentioned by Yasopp, his father. Despite his normal cowardice, Usopp dreams of becoming a brave warrior of the sea just like his father and lives every day in pursuit of living up to this dream. Before joining the crew, he acts as the main ally of the Straw Hat Pirates during the Syrup Village Arc, joining at the end of the same arc, being officially the third (unofficially fourth) member of the crew, and the third to join. He left the crew during the Water 7 Arc, being after Nami, Chopper and Robin, the fourth to rejoin, doing so at the end of the Post-Enies Lobby Arc. His original bounty of Beli30,000,000 was credited to his alias and alter-ego "Sogeking". During the events in Dressrosa, Usopp awakened his Kenbunshoku Haki, making him the fourth member of the Straw Hat crew to demonstrate and use a form of Haki. His current bounty, Beli200,000,000, is a huge jump from his original, due to his role as "God" for saving all the toy slaves in Doflamingo's underground trades. At the time, this took him from the third lowest bounty of the crew to the third highest, jumping past the previous holder, Nico Robin. After the events of the Whole Cake Island Arc, he dropped to fifth place.

According to Oda in a discussion with Mayumi Tanaka, Luffy's voice actress, 'no matter who joins, he always wants Usopp to be the weakest' since it would upset the balance of the story. Oda also states that this is because Usopp is the only one in the entire crew who is the closest in strength as compared to a regular human. Since early in the series, he has struggled to match the physical feats of the stronger characters, and needed his weapons or ammunition to take out foes. He used to be a huge coward and often wanted to run away immediately, a trait he still carries to a lesser extent after his two years of training. This, coupled with him getting easily distracted or confused in battle have often made him less effective than his real potential as a sniper. So far, he appears to have moved past this after his training and takes better advantage of his wit and strategy. Both his physical and mental strength have all increased greatly during the two years timeskip, as he was able to quickly dispatch all of Caesar's men on his own.

While many of his attributes lie mainly in his ability to hit nearly anything he sets his sights on with his slingshot, he is now shown to be strong enough to keep both Robin, Luffy, and himself afloat in freezing water. Usopp is an extremely skilled sniper. Since early in the series, he was shown to have inherited much of his father Yasopp's exceptional marksman skills. Usopp has outstanding marksmanship abilities with the slingshot, his favorite weapon. His skills when used in conjuntion with unique ammunitions such as the Firebird Star, Usopp can deal devastating damage in long range combat. In addition to his slingshot, he also has great skill with cannons and other forms of Naval Artillery, enough that the crew views him not only as a sniper, but as their gunner, responsible for operating and maintaining their ship's cannons and artillery as well as using them. His skills include using the ship cannons and the Gaon Cannon of the Thousand Sunny. One of Usopp's prominent abilities is his resourcefulness and understanding towards engineering (such as easily understanding the tunnel networks made by Miss Merry Christmas). Prior to Franky joining the crew, Usopp served as the Straw Hat's sole unofficial gadgets and mechanics specialist.Usopp is also a highly analytical tactician with incredible ingenuity in battle, able to use deception and cunning strategies to fight and defeat enemies who are physically more powerful than him. In his battle against Chew, a fish-man and an officer of the Arlong Pirates, Usopp threw a bottle of rum at him catching him off guard before Usopp destroyed the bottle and ignited the alcohol with a Kaen Boshi, setting him aflame before exploiting the chance to hit him hard with his hammer multiple times, defeating him.

While not at the same level as Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe, Usopp's endurance and willpower is considerably strong. After a major battle, Usopp tends to have severe injuries often caused by his determination to reach his goal. He will attempt to continue even with his injuries. Prominent examples of his incredible durability can be observed when Usopp was hit in the face by Mr. 4's 4-ton bat, and smashed repeatedly through walls by Miss Merry Christmas, and not only survived, but was able to continue fighting. Usopp has awakened his Kenbunshoku Haki during the latter half of the Dressrosa revolt, as he was able to see auras of Luffy, Law, and Sugar, who were in the royal palace, from the old King's Plateau near the Corrida Colosseum. With this, he was able to pinpoint Sugar's location and snipe her down from such a distance. Usopp is also a great artist, as he proved in the beginning of the series when he designed the Straw Hat's Jolly Roger after seeing Luffy's poor art skills. A running gag involves Luffy and Chopper building simple snowmen or sand castles only for Usopp to show off his vastly superior skills with a professional work of his own, which ended up being destroyed in a comical way. Usopp is also an adept liar, which can be useful in certain situations. Although many of his lies are outrageous, they've been shown to be a useful distraction at times; especially against gullible opponents. At times, it even succeeds as a deterrence albeit for a short period of time until his enemies figure out his bluff. He often incorporates his bluffs into his arsenal with mixed results. Usopp's weapon of choice is a slingshot which he used in combination with a variety of pellets for long-range combat. Usopp has developed other attacks unrelated to projectiles, though they are mainly jokes. These include the 5 Ton Hammer and others. After the Skypiea Arc, he has started using Dials for attacks such as using the Breath Dial to house explosive gas, using the Flash Dial to blind his foes, and using the Impact Dial to absorb and return blows. His first slingshot also known as the "Ginga Pachinko", was his primary weapon for combat, and he had many different types of ammunition in which he carried inside a large shoulder bag of his. He also often uses eggs in order to blind his opponents and rocks whenever he runs out of ammunition (before the timeskip). After the timeskip, he uses a new slingshot called "Kuro Kabuto", which retains the five band design of the original "Kabuto". The only immediately clear difference is that it is colored black and has a smaller size (whereas the first Kabuto was a staff, the new one is nearly the same size as his original slingshot). His new Kabuto also has the ability to take on a more powerful and larger form that he calls "Kuro Kabuto Chomping Grass". After being given water, it eats up anything in the immediate area, such as rocks and boulders, to use as ammunition. This technique allowed Usopp to capture Caesar, along with Buffalo and Baby 5. He can expand it to an even larger size which he dubs "Super Grow Up Kuro Kabuto" which is useful for particularly long range attacks. After the timeskip, Usopp is shown to be very adept in using Pop Greens, as shown when he defeated some of the Fake Straw Hat Crew by creating a carnivorous plant that resembled a monstrous venus flytrap with tendrils. During the Fish-Man Island Arc, he also manages to save the crew and the Thousand Sunny from being crushed by boulders by using Pop Greens to grow sea weed like plants to trap the boulders, and again, when they encountered the New Fish-Man Pirates in the Ryugu Palace, he used a giant flower with a terrible smell to deter them.

Nami

"Cat Burglar" Nami is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. She is the third member of the crew and the second to join, doing so during the Orange Town Arc. She is the adoptive sister of Nojiko after the two were orphaned and taken in by Bell-mère. She was formerly a member of the Arlong Pirates and initially joined the Straw Hats so she can rob them for her real crew in order to buy back her village from Arlong, but she joined the Straw Hats for real after they rebelled against and defeated Arlong. Her dream is to make a map of the entire world. She currently has a bounty of Beli66,000,000. Being the assigned navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nami is responsible for evaluating the direction that the ship goes as they sail further into the sea. Nami also tends to act as the crew's de facto treasurer, managing the crew's money and allocating spending money whenever they arrive at a new location. Besides Sanji, the crew's trained chef, Nami is also the only crew member known to possess even basic cooking knowledge (likely learned from Bell-mère). Prior to Sanji joining the crew, Nami agreed to cook for a fee, and in his absence, she reprises this role. Initially, she went back to charging money to perform this service, but after Luffy disastrously chooses to cook for the crew in order to avoid paying her most of his allowance, she has agreed to cook free of charge, she was able to cook a delicious fish by following one of Sanji's recipes left behind in the Thousand Sunny. Nami possesses a strong enough will to be able to withstand a burst of Big Mom's Haoshoku Haki.

Nami had spent several years from her tender childhood to her young adult life stealing money from numerous people including dangerous pirates to buy back her village from the Arlong Pirates, these harsh and sometimes brutal experiences grants Nami a very high level of physical capabilities. In the Water 7 Arc, she demonstrated exceptional agility and incredible leg strength, being able to jump the wide distances between rooftops in Water 7. Nami is also physically very strong and fit, and when she is extremely enraged especially from Luffy's reckless spendthrifting, she can pack extremely powerful punches to give vicious beatings, that can cause Luffy who has a tremendously tough durability to have brutal and bloody bruises. (This, however, is mainly a gag for comedy, and not representative of Nami's actual strength)

While on Weatheria, Nami showed she was capable of running extremely quickly while carrying both a heavy bag much larger than herself and Haredas with great ease. Nami is a highly skilled navigator and a extremely talented cartographer. Arlong considered her skills on par with the fish-men "superiority" since they were superior to any fish-man's. When Luffy destroyed her room at Arlong Park both bathymetric and geographic maps were seen, proves that Nami has a wide variety of cartographic skills. Nami has strong memory when it comes to finances since she is mainly handling the Straw Hats' financials due to her fondness of money. While shopping, Nami tends to negotiate as seen during the Return to Sabaody Arc where Nami demanded a discount over the clothes that she attempted to buy at a fashion shop, much to the shopkeeper's chagrin. Nami is a very convincing person, so much so that she has shown herself to be quite the negotiator in her own right. She has shown to be able to negotiate on behalf of most of the Straw Hats, although most of the negotiations are charged with financials or anything else that would be for her own benefits. Nami's fighting style focuses mainly on using the Clima-Tact to manipulate the weather of her surroundings, also known as the "Art of Weather". Which when combined with her immense knowledge of meteorology and weather systems, can be used for devastating results.

She first gained the ability to manipulate the weather when Usopp gave her the Clima-Tact. The flaw with his invention, however, was that it was primarily for party tricks. Regardless of this conflict, due to her expertise she was able to combine several of its functions in order to pull off dangerous and useful techniques, like creating a mirage of herself, (Mirage Tempo) in order to distract her opponent, and a powerful lightning cloud (Thunderbolt Tempo), which was used on Miss Doublefinger who thought she was a magician.  After the Skypeia Arc, Usopp improved the Clima-Tact with Dials, creating the Perfect Clima-Tact. This improvement gave her much greater power of the weather, allowing her to easily pull off stronger and newer versions of the tricks she could do with the Clima-Tact, like creating insubstantial duplicates of herself using mist (Mirage Tempo: Fata Morgana). This weapon was also powerful enough to allow her to wipe out hordes of Marines (Thunderbolt Tempo) successively and defeat CP9's Kalifa (Thunder Lance Tempo). There was still a flaw in its use, however, as Nami was unable to properly control the lightning and her allies would sometimes sustain collateral damage. After being further upgraded due to Usopp's Pop Greens and Franky's genius, Nami's new Sorcery Clima-Tact is now the "culmination of all of Weatheria's weather science, and has been described by Usopp as being "this century's greatest" something. The Clima-Tact can now grow or decrease in length when different amounts of pressure are applied, and is easier to twirl and use. It also seems to leave patterns in the air when it is used, overall giving it the feel of a magic wand of sorts. Ironically enough, the only Weatherian device that Usopp failed to implement into the upgraded Clima-Tact was a "magic wand" that he didn't quite understand. After capturing the thundercloud homie Zeus, Nami can use her Clima Tact to store Zeus inside, and when necessary she can use Zeus supplemented with her Clima Tact abilities to perform destructive lightning attacks. Though infrequent, Nami has a couple of other moves that she can use to incapacitate (in more ways than one) her opponents. Shiawase Punch, literally meaning "Happiness Punch"): a joke technique that Nami uses to dispatch people watching her bathe; she simply drops her towel, causing any male in the vicinity to collapse from a massive nosebleed. She also uses this as a get-rich-quick scheme, as she charges Beli100,000 to anyone who sees her doing this. This is called Happiness Punch in the FUNimation dub. Impact Nami uses an Impact Dial to absorb attacks and then send them back at her opponents. Since she does not have a lot of strength she suffered from the drawback of the Impact Dial. This was shown only when she finished off Hotori with Gan Fall. This technique retains its name in the FUNimation dub.

Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro, also known as "Pirate Hunter" Zoro, is a swordsman and combatant of the Straw Hat Pirates and a former bounty hunter. He was the first member to join the crew, and is considered one of the Monster Trio alongside Luffy and Sanji. His fame as a master swordsman and his great strength, along with the actions of his captain, sometimes led others to believe he was the true captain of the crew before he obtained his first bounty. His dream is to become the greatest swordsman in the world. Zoro is also regarded as one of twelve pirates who are referred to as the "Worst Generation". He currently has a bounty of Beli320,000,000, which is the 4th highest in the crew, after Luffy, Jinbe, and Sanji. Zoro is an extremely powerful and strong-willed fighter with immense potential. He is one of the crew's top four strongest fighters along with Luffy, Sanji, and Jinbe and currently has the fourth highest bounty in the crew. He is a monstrously powerful swordsman who does not posses a Devil Fruit, instead using a unique sword style of his own creation in battle, known as Santoryu wielding a sword in each hand along with one in the mouth.

When taking his stern personality into account, others mistake him as the captain of the Straw Hats after witnessing his skills in battle on some occasions. Also during the heat of battle, he has been known to give off the aura of a "demon" which often intimidates weaker opponents. Despite a near constant rivalry with fellow Straw Hat Sanji, the two have proven to be a near-unstoppable force when working together, as exemplified in the fight against the Groggy Monsters. Alongside Luffy and Sanji, Zoro is considered one of the Monster Trio due to his strength. Through years of extremely rigorous training since childhood, which consist mainly of grueling body building exercises in addition to hard training in swordsmanship, Zoro has immense physical prowess, particularly his strength, agility, and endurance. After two years of intense training with Dracule Mihawk, Zoro has grown significantly more powerful. As demonstrated during his first appearance after the timeskip, Zoro can even cut through a large ship with ease, speed, and precision (also considering without the use of his left eye). Zoro was even able to cut a Pacifista in half with just one slash from his swords. Two years prior, he barely managed to slightly damage one.

Zoro's newly-found strength is further demonstrated when he averts the previously mentioned formula of fighting the arc's second strongest foe when he easily defeats Hody Jones, a powerful fish-man and captain of the New Fish-Man Pirates. He accomplishes this with just a single strike from the Sandai Kitetsu, despite being at a disadvantage fighting a fish-man underwater. Through his training, Zoro has grown strong enough to effortlessly defeat Logia users with inferior fighting skill, as he demonstrated to Monet by cutting her vertically in half without Haki. Outside of battles, Zoro has one obvious weakness: his complete lack of orientation. He often demonstrates that he can easily get lost everywhere and always walks in the wrong direction. He even sometimes walks the wrong way when having his target in plain sight, looking for shortcuts. Zoro can also get confused by his own directions, such as in the Skypiea Arc when he intended to go right, but instead went to his left. Also, In Enies Lobby, Nami pointed towards a flight of stairs and told everyone to run to the roof of a building, but Zoro dashed away as if looking for some other way to the top of a building. He has also gotten lost running through a straight corridor. In Dressrosa, his lack of orientation gave the dwarf Wicca a terrible time while she desperately tried to lead Zoro in the right direction only to have him consistently run in a completely wrong direction even when Wicca pointed towards the right place to go.

Zoro is an extremely powerful Strong Blade type master swordsman, being able to use one, two, and three swords in varying attack styles, going from melee-type all the way to long-range sword strikes. He is even able to use Flying Slashes, a high-level sword technique that utilizes the very air pressure of sword swings itself to strike the enemy from a distance. Zoro can also carefully time his sword strikes to counter or deflect extremely powerful attacks such as Kaku's Rankyaku. As noted by Brook, Zoro is a user of Power of Destruction, a concept to describe a swordsman with immense physical strength. While disguised as a ronin in Wano Country, Zoro used a short Tanto to perform a powerful flying slash that cut down a magistrate along with the building despite the short range of the blade, a further testament of his improved skills in swordsmanship. Additionally, after having Shusui taken from him and during his fight against the assassin Kamazo, Zoro was able to not only take the scythe from the assassin after being stabbed in the shoulder but use it as an improvised blade to perform his Santoryu, which is another testament to his improved swordsmanship. Since no one else has been seen using anything similar to his Santoryu style (except for Jigoro while he possessed Zoro's shadow), it can be assumed that Zoro invented not only Santoryu but most, if not all, of his sword techniques. He is even seen perfecting a new technique in his fight with Braham. During his battle against Kaku, Zoro manages to awaken a new sword style known as "Kyutoryu", which gives him the appearance of having six arms and three heads, like the deity Asura, when activating the technique Kiki Kyutoryu: Asura. He also becomes surrounded by a dark aura while in this state, and the first time he achieved it, the ground shook and numerous holes appeared in it. This ability also allows Zoro to utilize nine swords in combat to effectively triple his potential as a swordsman, and it is usually used as an extremely powerful finishing move. Kaku noted it as a tangible spiritual aura created by Zoro's spirit through intense spiritual focus, which was able to inflict immense physical damage. It was stated by Luffy that Zoro possesses Haki, when discussing it in the context of members of his crew who could fight Caesar Clown, a Logia user. Because Law was referring to the ability to coat themselves in armor it confirms Zoro as a Busoshoku Haki user. Prior to the Sabaody Archipelago Arc Zoro was never aware of Haoshoku Haki, something he (along with the rest of the crew) had not shown any knowledge of during the first half of the series. However he, along with Sanji, has commented on Luffy's ability to passively knock out half of Hody's men, stating that if Luffy could not at least do that much then he would have had to have stepped down from being captain. Zoro knows how to use Kenbunshoku Haki, as shown when he was asked by Luffy if he could sense a "wild animal" in the Ryugu Palace, he stated that he could. In the anime, Zoro was shown using Kenbunshoku Haki to locate Pica during the Dressrosa Arc. Zoro also detected Batman attempting to kill Tsuru with an arrow fired from a far distance in the air. Bushosoku Haki is his specialty concerning Haki, which Zoro learned from Mihawk during the two-year timeskip. He first demonstrated Busoshoku Haki while against fighting Monet, a Logia user, on Punk Hazard after he slashed her cheek with a flying slash to save Tashigi. During his fight with Pica it was first demonstrated he could imbue Busoshoku Haki into all three of his swords (Wado Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu, and Shusui) at once and hardening them; in doing so he managed to bisect Pica as a stone giant; Zoro later cut him down after he covered his entire body with the same Haki, thereby also demonstrating his supreme mastery over Haki as compared to the Donquixote top executive. In One Piece Film: Gold, Zoro was able to reinforce his arms with Haki to successfully defend simultaneous slashes from both his swords Sandai Kitetsu and Shusui without getting injured at all.

Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy, also known as "Straw Hat Luffy" and commonly as "Straw Hat", is the main protagonist of the manga and anime, One Piece. He is the founder and captain of the increasingly infamous and powerful Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of its top three fighters. His lifelong dream is to become the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure left behind by the late Gol D. Roger. He believes that being Pirate King means having the most freedom in the world. Luffy is the son of the Revolutionary leader Monkey D. Dragon, the grandson of the Marine hero Monkey D. Garp, the sworn brother of late "Fire Fist" Portgas D. Ace and Revolutionary Chief-of-Staff Sabo, and the foster son of Curly Dadan. Luffy has gone up against many of the global powers around him, starting with fighting the most powerful pirates in the East Blue and moving to clashes against the Marines, Shichibukai, World Nobles, and Yonko in the Grand Line; he has emerged victorious in the majority of these battles. Luffy's accomplishments and heritage have caused him to be labeled as a "Dangerous Future Element", earning the wrath of Fleet Admiral Sakazuki and Marine Headquarters. Luffy also has a penchant for attracting followers and is currently the unofficial leader of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, consisting of seven pirate crews who will aid him whenever he wishes. After learning of this and his exploits against the Big Mom Pirates, the press has labeled him the "Fifth Emperor of the Sea", though many prominent figures consider this to be exaggerated. These acts, among other things, have given him his current bounty of Beli1,500,000,000. Having had a bounty of Beli300,000,000 prior to his arrival at the Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy is one of eleven rookie pirates who simultaneously reached the Red Line with bounties over Beli100,000,000, a group which would go on to be referred to as the "Worst Generation".

Luffy's personality is like that of a child's, in the sense that he tends to go to the extremes. He can either be extremely greedy, especially in cases of food, who his crew is, and adventure; or extraordinarily selfless, going so far as to virtually sacrifice himself to avenge or protect his friends, crew, and family. This childish mentality of his allows him to get to the root of the problem, and allows him to figure out the most simple way of solving it. Luffy's two dominant traits are his apparent lack of intelligence and his utter fearlessness. Luffy can easily be amazed by the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and can be confused by concepts such as that by digging a hole right next to another he may be unintentionally filling the other hole.

In addition, during long and complex explanations of something, he immediately calls it magic. He likes monsters and will ask weird creatures to join his crew (as seen in the Thriller Bark Arc, asking a talking tree to join his crew). He also has no knowledge of medicine: when Nami had a high fever he told her to eat cold food and later tried to make Roronoa Zoro better (after battling Bartholomew Kuma) by pouring sake onto him because Zoro likes sake. As captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy has the greatest authority over a powerful and diverse crew consisting of several infamous members, many of whom are extremely powerful in their own right. Luffy has a great amount of influence over his crew, so much so that the members of his crew all trust him with their lives, both in spite of his reckless behavior and in some cases even because of it. He is also one of twelve pirates who have been dubbed as the "Worst Generation", a group of individuals who have become famous for the bold actions and major conflicts they committed against the World Government and all have bounties of over Beli100,000,000. Indirectly, he also has claim over the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, a massive fleet consisting of eight powerful New World crews numbering 5600 people in total, who all swore to serve under him of their own will and come to assist him whenever he may need them. The scope of Luffy's authority is considered by the World Government to be close to on par with the Yonko, the four most powerful and influential pirates in the world, and Luffy has officially been considered by the press to be the "Fifth Emperor" among the Yonko as a result.

Luffy possesses tremendous speed, agility, and reflexes. When battling Dracule Mihawk in the Battle of Marineford, he was able to dodge the strikes of the world's greatest swordsman, including ducking under one that completely cleaved through a faraway glacier. Luffy has shown the ability to take massive amounts of physical punishment but still remain conscious and able to fight. As a child, Luffy was brutally beaten by Porchemy's spiked gloves to get information out of him, but Luffy took the beating without revealing anything. He was poisoned on Alabasta by Crocodile's poison hook, but remained conscious long enough to defeat the Shichibukai. He took multiple blows from Foxy's spiked gloves, but did not fall. Luffy possesses immense endurance stemming from his great durability and willpower. As a child, he developed endurance when his grandfather put him through various training methods. When following Ace on a long and dangerous trek from Mt. Colubo to Gray Terminal, as he accompanied Ace and Sabo on their adventures through the wilderness. By far his most noteworthy feat was surviving exposure to an incurable amount of poison after fighting Magellan in Impel Down. Normally, Luffy can be prone to making bad decisions. However, while fighting, he possesses an uncanny instinct that has often resulted in him performing atypical actions that end up helping him. When confronted by multiple duplicates of Mr. 3 on Little Garden, Luffy was instantly able to find and attack the real one thanks entirely to instinct. Luffy possesses the most dangerous ability in the world: the ability to recruit allies to his side everywhere he goes. Luffy is capable of making friends rather quickly, and people typically have to do little for Luffy to consider them as a friend, such as Rebecca, who earned Luffy's friendship by buying him food. Luffy unwittingly ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, when he was 7 years old after finding it in a chest owned by the Red Hair Pirates. The fruit gives his body the properties of rubber, allowing him to stretch any part of his body in any direction before snapping back to his center of gravity like a rubber band. Luffy is one of the very small number of people in the world who can use all three types of Haki. Notably he was instructed in the use of Haki by Silvers Rayleigh, the former First Mate of the Roger Pirates during the two year time-skip.  Luffy possesses Haoshoku Haki, a very rare type of Haki whose users are said to have the qualities of a king. This power was latent within him, and was first seen used at the Flying Fish Riders' base to stop the bison Motobaro. Luffy then unintentionally used it in the arena at Amazon Lily to stop Marguerite's group from being killed, in Level 5 of Impel Down to knock out attacking wolves, and at Marineford to knock out the executioners who were about to kill Ace. Luffy learned to use Kenbunshoku Haki during the two-year timeskip. With it, he is capable of sensing the presence, emotion, and intent of others and greatly aiding his reflexes to dodge attacks such as bullets. He is highly proficient at using this Haki that he can even predict attacks from beings with little to no emotion like a Pacifista. He also casually dodged Hody's Yabusame as well as volleys of thrown weapons by Jean Ango, a powerful master marksman. Luffy learned to use Busoshoku Haki during the two-year timeskip. He regularly uses it in combat in the New World to increase his defenses and attack power and is now able to strike Logia users such as Caesar Clown and those with powers similar to Logia like Katakuri. His Gear Fourth form heavily uses Busoshoku Haki to the point of depleting it in a relatively short amount of time, and while in Gear Fourth, his compressed Haki takes the shape of flames. Luffy has learned how to use advanced Busoshoku Haki, allowing him to project the Haki a short distance without a medium, as well as utilize the higher grade of advanced Busoshoku, allowing him to send his Haki into a target's body and destroy said target from the inside. While training to achieve the former, he unwittingly managed to progress all the way to the latter when he ripped death collars off of himself and Hyogoro. After training relentlessly non-stop for a week under Hyogoro's supervision by striking steel block with Haki enhanced punches, Luffy now appears to be able to project his Busoshoku Haki at will, as seen when he was able to blast a hole through a tree by projecting from his fist. It is unknown if he is capable of destroying objects from the inside at will.
